This past week our Eagles had a chance to spend their hard earned SOAR tickets on great prizes from the school store! A few of the students finally earned enough to earn some "top shelf" prizes! Thank you to our amazing community for donating items and helping support this good behavior incentive program.

Happy Sunday Emerald Hill Eagles! Quarter 3 report cards will be coming home on Friday, March 21st. Looking ahead to next school year, our goal is to develop well rounded classes. Unfortunately, this prevents us from accepting requests for specific teachers. However, if you would like to provide any information about your child’s learning style that you want us to consider during placement, please email me by May 1st. Happy Sunday Emerald Hill Eagles! The end of the 3rd grading period is this Tuesday, March 11th, and there is no school on Friday, March 14th for a Teacher Workday. This coming week we will have both a fire drill and a tornado drill. Please take a moment to review fire and tornado safety with your children. CCPS is holding their 21st Art Show at Germanna Community College. The art show will be open to the public on March 15th from 3-6pm and March 16th from 11am-2pm. Students whose work will be exhibited have been notified by Mrs. Dwyer; however, all students are welcome to come and observe work from PreK-12 CCPS students. The 2024-2025 yearbook sales will begin this week. Be on the lookout for a flier coming home with students this coming week with more information about how to order your child’s yearbook. Yearbook sales are online only and they will be on sale until April 1st. The PTO fundraiser at the Culpeper Skating Rink for March 11th is cancelled. Feel free to follow the PTO Facebook page for upcoming events and spirit nights! The PTO fundraiser, Joe Corbi’s, is still going on now until March 13th. The PTO receives a portion of every order placed through March 13th. If you are interested in participating in the fundraiser, head to joecorbi.com. Our participant code is 21651. Happy Sunday Emerald Hill Eagles! Thank you for all of your help collecting plastic bags towards our NexTrex fundraiser. At this time, we are no longer accepting plastic bags. Thank you again for helping us recycle over 950 pounds of plastic. This week starts our month of reading events and activities. This year’s month of reading theme is space! Emerald Hill is out of this world! We hope your children will join us in participating in all the spirit days this week. Spirit Days: Monday (3/3) We’re Outta This World! - Dress like something from space (aliens, astronauts, planets, stars, star wars, etc.) Tuesday (3/4) When I grow Up I Wanna Be - Dress like your future job Wednesday (3/5) Futuristic Wacky Wednesday! - Wear crazy hair, socks, backwards clothes, etc. Thursday (3/6) Blast From The Past - Dress like a decade or century from the past Friday (3/7) Our Future’s So Bright! - Wear sunglasses or hat and an EHE shirt A flier was sent home this past week with more information about our month of reading activities. Just a reminder, all costumes may not include masks or props and students must be able to participate in normal classroom activities while wearing their costumes. I would like to share with our school family that we do have a new School Resource Officer at Emerald Hill. Please help us welcome Deputy Steel to our school community and welcome him if you see him around our campus. Deputy White is currently supporting Culpeper Middle School. Good afternoon, Emerald Hill families! This morning we kicked off our Out of this World Read Across America Week festivities with the Masked Reader assembly! We have a ton of dress up days and fun activities planned for next week. Be sure to check the flyer for details!

As your child may share with you, today was Deputy White's last day at Emerald Hill. He will be moving to the middle school to help protect them and keep them safe. To start his last day of being an eagle off right, the students lined the hallways to give him the standing ovation he deserves! If you see him around the community please help us thank him for all he did over 12 years to support our school and our school community!

Good morning, Emerald Hill families! The EHE SCA would like to remind you that this coming Monday, February 24th, is Switcheroo Day. To participate in this SCA spirit day, students will dress like teachers and teachers will dress as students! We look forward to seeing all the fun outfits on Monday.

Thanks to your generosity, all staff were able to receive a nice treat from Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee Truck on Friday! Thank you to all of the students who have participated in the American Heart Association's Kids Heart Challenge. All donations must be in by Tuesday, February 18th. This week our PTO is hosting their next Spirit Night at the Culpeper Skating Center on February 20th from 5-8pm. We hope your families can join us for a fun night out. This past week, CCPS sent out information about their Parent Title Survey. If you would like to provide feedback for the survey, please use the link attached.
