
Mr. Jennings class worked together to identify types of rocks, based on written descriptions posted around the room. The students have been working hard to learn the unique differences between Igneous, Metamorphic, and Sedimentary rocks.







Ms. Bentle’s class recently learned about the 3 States of Matter (solid, liquid, and gas). We used root beer floats to identify the different states and how they can work together! #atthePark


Mrs. Pritchett's class made 3D models of the Earth's layers in class. This helped the students visualize the layers in a fun way! #atthePark

Last week in Miss Nellis’s class, the 1st grade students learned about the relationship between the sun, and earth, and the moon. They created a model of the earth and moon’s orbit of the sun! #atthePark

Science is yummy! Ms. Feld’s class learned about plate tectonics. With graham crackers and frosting, they demonstrated plate boundaries and their effects. A nice treat was enjoyed after! #atthePark







Mrs. Arend’s 2nd grade family is off to a great start! We have walked in the steps of dinosaurs on a field trip to Luck Stone Quarry, made fossilized impressions of shells, became paleontologists by using tools (toothpicks and paint brushes) to extract chocolate chip “fossils” out of cookies and sprinkled kindness to our custodian and to the residents at The Culpeper Assisted Living Center. We can’t wait to see what else this year will bring!











Mrs. Bright's (along with Ms. Prentice’s) students recently earned “Fun Friday” for hard work in the classroom. Playing games together helps the students build valuable skills such as teamwork, communication skills, and self-awareness. #atthePark

Mrs Jenkins' class learned about shapes over the past week. We read a book about a shape monster and then created our vary own shape monsters. #atthePark

Mrs. Kuykendalls class worked on thank you letters for Culpeper County Police and Fire Department in remembrance of September 11th. The students wrote kind notes of thanks to both departments, expressing their gratitude.

Happy International Dot Day! Mrs. Boyd’s class listened to the story, The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds, and then used their creativity to create their own dots. The children had fun painting their dots for Dot Day. “Just make a mark and see where it takes you.”
