As a follow up to a reading passage about conducting a science experiment, students in Mrs. Day’s 5th grade class put the science to action and found that some chemical reactions give off heat, while others take in heat from the things around them. Vinegar and baking soda usually make a mixture that gets colder because the overall process absorbs heat from its surroundings. Scientists call this an endothermic reaction.  What a great way to tie together reading and science!!

Select AGR 4th and 5th Graders had a Safety Patrol Induction Ceremony today, in partnership with the Culpeper Sheriff's Department, and help from Mrs. High and Deputy Kevin Murrell. These students will report to their posts starting tomorrow, assisting students upon arrival and dismissal. See a video of the ceremony here:

This afternoon, AGR ACE students with Mrs. Marini hosted the first cardboard carnival! This activity tied into their economics unit and their goal was to make a "profit" on the games that they made.

Attention Veterans and families with Veterans! On Wednesday, Nov. 11th, AGR will host a Veterans Day appreciation ceremony at 9:00am. If you are, or have a family member(s) who is a military veteran, please fill out the google form below. This can be done even if you or the veteran cannot attend the ceremony.
The information will be compiled and shared during the ceremony. The final date to complete this form is Oct. 30th.
