Last night AGR PE Teacher Mr. Downs hosted a Family Fun night! Thanks to @ccpsevhs football players for volunteering to help! What a great time!
This project yielded two benches to be placed on the playground. With help from Chuck Bates at Culpeper Auto Salvage, the students (design input), and Advanced Coating Solutions (paint), not to mention handprints traced and cut on a plasma cutter, this was a community effort.
AGR unveiled their new Buddy Benches, made by Roque Castro & inspired by last year's SCA students (now in middle school) who joined us for the ribbon-cutting ceremony. The Castro family donated the difference from what was raised last year from the Talent Show.
Mr. Downs shared a story of good sportsmanship by Coach Eric Dinkens with the BAM club. The boys then played a game of kickball to practice their sportsmanship skills!
AGR 4th Graders worked with math specialist Mrs. Standley this morning on building 3-D shapes using soapy water and gumdrops/toothpicks. What a great time!
Mrs. Johns brought her pet turtle into Mrs. McFarland's 1st Grade class for a meet and greet yesterday! The students were amazed!

AGR 5th Grade teacher Mr. Hallett presented the BAM lesson yesterday after school, explaining events in his life that were examples of good, and poor, sportsmanship. Next week, students in BAM will have a kickball game, putting sportsmanship above all else.
Mrs. Bridges' 1st Graders began their sound unit in Science with an activity to explore and identify various items dropped into a "drop chamber." The 3-day lesson will conclude on Monday, with the students creating a code - using only sounds - to spell words!
While Read Across America week has officially ended, AGR continued to celebrate it throughout this week, with DEAR (Drop Everything And Read) time on Thursday (pictured are 2nd and 4th Grades) as well as book giveaways, and reading night. AGR loves to read! Great job Bulldogs!
