A few recent activities from Mrs. McFarland's 1st Graders; reviewing repeating patterns into growing patterns. Students created repeating patterns for the core, while learning and using the names of 3 new shapes. Also house and tree stem projects done before winter break.

For those curious about how missed days affect lunches, here's a message from Mrs. Dottie in the AGR cafe: "This week's lunch menu is as planned on the menu for Jan 22-26. The only change is switching the Mon./Tues. breakfast menu. Breakfast the rest of the week is as planned."

Many thanks to Principal Dan Birch of Pearl Sample Elementary. He was the BAM speaker today, discussing dress etiquette and teaching how to tie a tie. He "crushed it," according to Mr. Downs. Thanks Mr. Birch!

Jude and Carter from Mrs. White's class dressed up like teachers for Opposite Day. 😀. Speaking of spirit days - as of today, the 100th day of school will be next Tuesday, when students can dress up like a 100 year old, or wear 100 on their clothes.

Mrs. Bridges' 1st Graders started their money unit today. Penny, Penny, easily spent, worth one cent, I know that! Hustle and Heart Set Us Apart!

Mrs. Sheads' 5th Grade class was introduced to their sound unit today by experimenting with different sizes of the boomwackers (thanks to music teacher Mr. Gibson), and felt and saw vibrations using tuning forks!

As of today, Jan. 4, the 100th Day of School is set for January 18th. We encourage students (and staff) to dress representing 100 as they wish!
