Mr. Berger's 5th Graders were practicing the scientific method to determine which type of paper would make the best paper airplane. These pictures show their experiments in flight!

AGR 3rd Graders were very busy today! Ms. Ciccarone's class learned about and tested the Scientific Method by predicting and testing how honey interacts with both hot and cold water.
Meanwhile, students in Mrs. McFarland's class practiced thinking like a scientist in the Elephant's Toothpaste experiment. They learned that variables in an experiment can change the outcome. Students used different sized bottles, and some left out the dish detergent to see what would happen. This is a fun one to try at home (https://www.sciencebuddies.org/stem-activities/elephant-toothpaste)!!

In Social Studies, 3rd Graders in Mrs. McFarland's class are studying diversity. In these pictures, students chose a partner that they didn't know well.....yet. Students spent a few minutes interviewing each other and many discovered they had a lot in common!

Mrs. Sheads' 5th Graders were applying their knowledge about the scientific method by testing which liquid will melt the ice the fastest!

Miss McGuire's first graders showed off what they know about comparing numbers!

Ms.C's third graders are busy collecting data so they can create their own bar graphs and pictographs.

This week, Mrs. McFarland's 3rd graders began learning a new strategy for fluency practice. Students worked in pairs and helped each other with words they found challenging. We can't wait to use this fluency reading practice every day!

Third graders in Mrs. Sink's class woke the Bee Bots from their summer slumber - they were the first class to use these coding devices. All the while they were showing their knowledge of place value.

AGR fifth graders today experienced the annual Mentos and Coke experiment to go along with their studies on the scientific method!

Mr. Hallett's fifth graders worked with our kindergartners yesterday on writing their name!

Mrs. Birch's fourth graders enjoyed playing place value chance where they had to roll a dice and create the greatest number.

Mrs. Day’s 5th grade class using melting ice to make hypotheses and learn about scientific processes.

Channeling his inner "Mrs. Standley" (recently retired math specialist), Mr. Hallett's 5th graders worked on an activity for prime and composite numbers.
